Catchup

Well it seems that a number of things have been happening around here and I'm a little behind in my blogging. First and probably most pleasing to Kassa is that we have had some fall weather. This means that the dog park group has started meeting again. We gained a new member last week named Specs . A newer dog always brings a lot of energy to the group and gets their juices going. It was really nice to see the guys all running together.

Specs is a bigger boy. He was showing the other dogs whose who by body checking them when chasing the ball. Kassa seemed to take this in stride (literally).

Not only does the nicer weather result in the group meeting again, it also means the baseball fields aren't quite so busy. Kassa and I have been sneaking in early morning visits and really enjoying them. In the other park when Kassa grabs the ball he has to stop almost immediately because of the fence line. In the baseball park he can run through and gallop around. Its really fun to watch him.

The last thing that went on was the fall greyhound picnic. The group uses this picnic to promote greyhound adoption and raise money for the "Angle Fund". The preliminary results are that they raised enough money to rescue 1.5 broken leg hounds. A really great result IMO.

You guys have been busy:-) It's always good to have more greyhound playmates. And time to play:-) Well done on raising all that money for a very worthy cause.

I love this time of year with all the greyhound reunions and get togethers! Kassa seems like such a well-adjusted fellow. I just wish we could get some Greyhound people to get together locally. Bunny would just love it!

I really can't take any credit for raising the money. Kassa and I just went and ate the free food. Well we did buy a calendar... But anyway all the credit goes to the guys who organized the event and manned the booths.

I think Kassa does really well for a boy that was classified as "other breed weird" when we first got him. I really couldn't be happier. Bunny is welcome to come and play with us anytime :).
